The American Society of Architectural Illustrators is hosting their annual conference in Baltimore, October 17 – 21, 2012.  This conference is one of the few visualization conferences and always a great one to attend. Allowing attendees to be able to view in person the current Architecture In Perspective Exhibit, meet and spend time with others in the profession and attend a fantastic group of seminars is a special opportunity and should be seriously considered by any one in the business.

Here is a look at the schedule and you are welcome to sign up ‘a la carte’ or at a discount for everything.

Welcome to the Premier Arch Viz Awards is hosting the 9th annual Architectural 3D Awards. The winners will be awarded at the exclusive awards trophy at Mundos Digitales Conference 2012 in La Coruna, Spain and be given over $50,000 in prizes by our generouscompetition sponsors. The competition is open to everyone in the Architectural Visualization industry to highlight the best imagery, animations and real-time projects done in 2011/2012.

This year’s awards will be divided into five categories: Image (Commissioned)Image (Non-Commissioned), andFilm/Animation (Commissioned)Film/Animation (Non-Commissioned) and Real-Time. From the submitted entries a panel of expert judges will select the top five nominees in each category. The winner of each category will be awarded the exclusive 3D AWARDS trophy during the Mundos Digitales Conference.

Presenting Architecture announces it’s first exhibition and seminar series!  Hosted by the American Institute of Architects San Francisco Chapter and The Center for Architecture + Design and curated by Robert Becker this event will run from February 16 – April 26, 2012 m-f 9-5. The artists reception will be February 23rd, 2012, 5:30-7:30pm.

Presenting Architecture curated by Robert Becker will highlight ‘case studies’ of  architectural model makers, photographers and visualization experts along with a communications case study by Amanda Walter co-author of the upcoming book Social Media in Action.  These studies will explore how these artists produce their craft and showcase the importance of using specialists to make your architectural presentation a winning one.

Movie requirements

  1. Create a movie using Lumion (FREE, Basic or Ultimate are all allowed)
  2. You are allowed to use editting software to enhance the output of Lumion
  3. Any subject for your movie is allowed
  4. Movie should be 720p MP4 format.


  1. By participating you give Act-3D the right to use your entry for promotional purposes.
  2. Your entry may be spread and promoted for the purpose of promoting Lumion
  3. You should have the intellectual property rights to your entry.
  4. Your movie should not contain material from third parties which could prevent us from using your movie.
  5. You accept full damages resulting from claims made by IP holders of content included in your movie.
  6. The winner will be selected by the Act-3D jury.
  7. Should you win, cash prizes will be transferred into your back account.
  8. All taxes, insurances, transfers and other expenses resulting from the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner
  9. Act-3D reserves the right to alter, amend or close the competition as necessary
  10. Act-3D has the right to disqualify your entry if we believe your entry does not comply to these rules
  11. In case of any dispute over the rules or competition results the decision of Act-3D is binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  12. The competition and these rules are governed by Dutch law.
