Vizcaya Venetian Barge, Miami
Frank Costantino

While I have been posting and commenting on some of the more exotic destinations to do some continuing education work there are some events in some beautiful cities that might be easier to travel to (at least for the USA members).  First, new Presenting Architecture member, but longtime illustrator Frank Costantino has a great  program called Around Downtown-Providence RI just listed for September 14, 15 & 16, 2012 in the Events Calendar. This workshop can be split up into single day(s) or a full three consecutive day program.

Second is Sketching on Location, September 14 & 15 at Balboa Park in San Diego with Richard Scott aka Graphics Teacher. This event is being organized by Brandon Reed, a moderator and super promoter of the great web site Land8Lounge. For more information please see the official event page: http://land8.com/events/event/show?id=2025679%3AEvent%3A527038&xg_source=msg_invite_event

Either of these two events will keep your skills tight and be a fun, creative outlet as well.

Interested in using the Presenting Architecture network to help tell the architecture world about your event? Just contact [email protected] 925.254.4234 pst. Presenting Architecture uses FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Youtube and its own extensive database to spread the word!

For any professional, taking continuing education workshops can be a hard thing to justify. From my experience, it can also be an amazing experience that is both instantly rewarding and brings long time benefits to your professional experience. One way to justify the time is to combine business with pleasure and take the workshop at a beautiful location.

Now is your chance to watch and paint with architectural artist Tom Schaller in some amazing locations. To get to see Tom paint is truly worth the trip, to give yourself a week to paint is amazing, add in Tom’s insights and invaluable teaching style puts the experience over the top. The above gallery is from Tom’s recent European workshop.

Architectural artist Tom Schaller has long been considered one of the foremost architectural artists in the world. In the field, he has won every major award for his artwork – including being a two-time recipient of the Hugh Ferriss Memorial Prize. He has authored two books ; the best-selling, and AIA award of merit winner, Architecture in Watercolor, and The Art of Architectural Drawing. He is increasingly in demand internationally to conduct his watercolor workshop series, “The Architecture of Light“. His artwork is collected and exhibited around the world.

Tom’s work can be seen as a ‘featured professional’ on Presenting Architecture http://www.presentingarchitecture.com/directory/ads/schaller-architectural-design-presentation-2/ and at his own illustration and fine art sites:
